Your search for identity
{Who are you, when you are stripped to the bone?}

"We teach best what we are here to learn"
This single quote clarified for me what people needed me for. I can do a lot of things exceptionally well, but that is not the same as doing what you’re truly built to do.
And for me, that is a constant search for identity.
I’m actually here to keep searching for my identity. And therefore to help others do the same.
I’ve wondered over the years why this matters so much to me. I though that it mattered to others just as much, but I now know that’s not true. (There’s actually a physiological reason that I won’t go into here, but will write about at a later date.) Some people don’t give their identity more than a fleeting thought. For me, my identity – and the transformation of it – has been a constant elusive and an intangible tangible. And I’m now okay with that – with the fact that I’m never going to ‘arrive’.
And I also know that identity is key to everything.
Identity is the answer to:
• What is the point of me?
• What is it that I am here to do?
• What do I do with my energy?
• What do my days look like?
And, sure enough this is what my clients come to me for.
They can no longer recognise themselves when they look in the mirror. Despite their success, they are realising it’s built on a persona that no longer exists (and perhaps never did so). If they have realised that they really do only have a certain amount of time on the planet, and that the time to discover who they really are is now, then they will be prepared to burn away the old identity/identities in order to discover who they really are and the answers to all the other questions above.
But it’s really hard to do this alone. It took me years to realise that ‘identity’ was the missing link in the chain for me. It took me years of intense self-reflection and work with mentors to get to the clarity I have now. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to take you years to find out what you need to know about yourself. The sooner you know, the sooner you can get on with the next chapter of your life … the one where you get to be you.
Because I’m a master of identity creation, destruction and transformation. Because I’ve been doing it since day dot to a level that most people never have to. I am also brilliant at uncovering real identities in others, because I have spent so long doing the same for myself, and know exactly what to look for. I can see with immediacy in each moment what is a true component of someone’s identity, and what is a contrivance and construction. I know what part of someone’s persona is a lie and what is the truth. I know what to peel away, burn away, so that someone can see themselves clearly for the first time.
Because, we teach best what we’re here to learn.
Easily one of the most painful human experiences is to not know your identity. Very little comes close to this particular pain. But that pain is also unnatural – and it’s entirely unnecessary. If you’d like to learn from me how to navigate your way to your true identity, then it’s time to talk. Not next month or next year.
